Dr Gulas has been involved with entertainment technologies for over a decade. He has been repeatedly cited as an innovator. In a lead article, WIRED named him as one of "25 players who are reinventing entertainment" in Hollywood. He has appeared globally on TV and in printed reports on entertainment technologies. Gulas was the founder of Mirage Technologies, Inc.,( Boston), a leading-edge entertainment related technology company which in 1997, in equal partnership with Safeguard Scientifics (SFE- AMEX), purchased Pacific Title, one of Hollywood's oldest and most respected optical/post-production studios. Renamed Pacific Title/Mirage Studios, Gulas served as Co-Chairman and Co-President until the sale of his interest in company in 2000. Dr. Gulas was also the co-inventor, and U.S. patent recipient on ‘expressions in tissue-like systems. As founder of Mirage Technologies and Co-chairman of Pacific Title/ Mirage, Gulas led the company from a start-up to the point of an IPO. For over 15 years, prior to Mirage Technologies, Dr. Gulas was on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School, Dept. of Psychiatry/Psychology. He is also a published author of a book and numerous professional publications, and the creator of the first mobile dedicated (SPECT) brain scanning van. He was also the recipient of the prestigious “Humanitarian of the Year” Award from the Emmanuel Foundation, joining among other recipients former President George Bush.
